Fake Card Detection
Counterfeit trading cards have never been better — or cheaper to produce. Modern fakes fool eBay listings, local trades and sometimes even experienced collectors. Guredo.AI puts an AI counterfeit check in your pocket: scan a card and get an authenticity assessment in seconds, backed by a growing database of verified genuine and fake references.
Why fakes are every collector’s problem
Counterfeits don’t just burn the buyer who overpays for one. Every fake that circulates undermines trust in the whole market — raw card sales, trades, even graded-card prices move on how confident buyers feel. That’s why we are building the largest counterfeit collectibles database in the world: every verified fake makes the next one easier to catch, for everyone.
How the AI checks authenticity
Photograph the card and the AI compares what it sees against verified originals — analysing print quality and rosette patterns, font shapes and spacing, colour reproduction, holographic foil behaviour and card-back details. These are the same tells experienced collectors look for with a loupe, applied consistently and without fatigue.
You get an assessment in seconds: signals that the card matches genuine references, or specific red flags worth a closer look.
A second opinion from real collectors
AI is the first line, not the last word. Post a suspicious card to the Guredo.AI community feed and collectors who know the set can weigh in with eyes-on experience — holo patterns from a print run, known counterfeit batches, subtle details a photo barely catches. Authentication works best when AI speed and human expertise check each other.
Check before you buy or sell
The best time to catch a fake is before money changes hands. Scan cards when a trade binder crosses the table, when a lot arrives in the mail, or before you list a card yourself — selling a fake unknowingly can end an account and a reputation. A seconds-long check is cheap insurance on both sides of a deal.
Fake detection questions
-
Can the app guarantee a card is genuine or fake?
No detection method can promise 100% certainty — Guredo.AI gives you a fast, evidence-based assessment, not a certificate.
-
What kinds of fakes can it spot?
The AI is trained on verified counterfeits and flags the tells they share: wrong print patterns, off fonts and spacing, incorrect colours, missing or wrong holographic effects, and card-back errors. As the counterfeit database grows, so does the range of fakes it recognises.
-
Do I need the physical card, or does a listing photo work?
The physical card in your hands gives the most reliable result, because you control lighting, angle and focus. Listing photos are often too compressed or staged to judge — for online purchases, scan the card as soon as it arrives, while a return is still possible.
-
Does checking a card cost anything?
Guredo.AI is free to download and scanning is part of the app. Checking a card before a deal takes seconds and costs you nothing — which is exactly the economics counterfeiters hate.
