AI Card Pre-Grading
Professional grading is a bet: you pay the fee, ship the card, wait weeks — and only then learn whether the grade justified any of it. Guredo.AI turns that bet into an informed decision. Scan a card with your phone and get an AI-powered condition estimate in seconds, so you only submit the cards that are worth submitting.
How pre-grading works
Photograph the front, back and details of your card inside the app. The AI examines the images the way a human grader would — but consistently, and in seconds. You get a condition report with an overall grade estimate on the familiar 1–10 scale, plus per-category detail so you can see exactly what is holding a card back.
There is no shipping, no submission form, and no waiting on a queue. A box of raw pulls that would take months to evaluate through a grading service can be triaged in an afternoon.
What the AI checks
The report covers the four things graders score: corners (whitening, dings, soft tips), edges (chipping, silvering, roughness), surface (scratches, print lines, clouding, holo wear) and centering (border ratios front and back). Each is assessed from your photos and reflected in the overall estimate — so a card that looks mint at arm’s length but hides a print line under the holo doesn’t surprise you an expensive grading fee later.
Know before you pay for PSA, BGS, or CGC
A professional submission costs real money per card once you add grading fees and insured shipping both ways. Submitting a card that comes back a 6 when you hoped for a 9 wastes that fee — and often the card is worth less slabbed at a low grade than raw.
A pre-grade tells you which pile each card belongs in: worth submitting, worth selling raw, or worth keeping in the binder. Guredo.AI is built to complement professional grading, not replace it — the goal is that when you do submit, you submit with confidence.
Grade smarter with history and community
Every scan is saved to your submission history, so you can track a collection’s condition over time or re-check a card after a trade. And when a result surprises you, the collector community can weigh in: post a card to the feed, collect grade votes from other collectors, and compare eyes-on opinions with the AI’s estimate before making a call.
Pre-grading questions
-
Is a Guredo.AI pre-grade the same as a PSA or BGS grade?
No — a pre-grade is an AI-generated estimate of condition, not an official grade. Professional graders make the final call, and grades can differ. The pre-grade’s job is to tell you whether a card is a sensible candidate for paid grading before you spend the fee.
-
Which cards can I pre-grade?
Pokémon cards today, with more trading card games — One Piece, Magic: The Gathering — and sports cards on the roadmap. If the AI hasn’t seen a card before, you’ll still get a condition assessment based on the card’s corners, edges, surface and centering.
-
What do I need for a good scan?
Just your phone camera, decent lighting and steady shots of the front, back and details. The app guides you through capturing the card; you don’t need a scanner, lightbox or any special equipment.
-
How fast is it?
A typical pre-grade takes seconds from scan to report — compared to the weeks or months a mail-in grading submission takes to come back.
